Meeting with the Foreign Minister of Nepal

Ambassador of the Russian Federation in Nepal H.E. Mr. Aleksei Novikov had a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal Hon. Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali.

During the conversation, they discussed topical issues of interaction between the two countries. H.E. Mr. Novikov noted Russia’s interest in development of cooperation with the Himalayan republic and underlined the importance of improvement of the existing legal basis of bilateral relations. Hon. Mr. Gyawali said that official Kathmandu highly appreciates the assistance, which was rendered to Nepal by our country, and called the Russian side to increase investments in the economy of its country. He underscored that with the aim to attract foreign investors Kathmandu has carried out a number of necessary reforms, which contributed to improvement of business climate of Nepal. The Minister expressed the hope for further development of relation between the two countries in different spheres, including energy, tourism and transport.
