On celebration of the 62nd Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Nepal
On 16 November 2018, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture (RCSC) in Kathmandu jointly with the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Nepal held a festive event on the occasion of the 62nd Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Nepal.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal Pradeep Kumar Gyawali was the chief guest of the function. In his speech, he underlined traditionally friendly character of relations between our countries and called for intensification of bilateral contacts, including on the high level.
Addressing the guests, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of Russia in Nepal Yury Yuzhaninov noted the progress achieved in recent years in relations between Moscow and Kathmandu and indicated promising areas of cooperation between Russia and Nepal.
President of the Nepal-Russia Friendship and Cultural Association Bhagawan Ratna Tuladhar, President of the Association of Nepali graduates of Soviet and Russian universities “Mitra Kunj” Nahendra Pradhan and Vice-President of the Nepal-Russia Chamber of Commerce and Industry Naresh Shrestha also presented their views of topical issues of the bilateral agenda.
The Russian folk dance group “Raduga” (“Rainbow”) from Voronezh, Russia and students of the dance division of the Sushila Arts Academy performed on stage within the framework of the celebration programme.
The RCSC launched a thematic photo exhibition for those who are interested in the history of diplomatic relations between Russia and Nepal.
